Roundtrip by Mircea Daneliuc
An eclectic film, in which suspense and cynicism occasionally meet the grotesque, “Round trip” is, in many ways, reminiscent of Daneliuc’s later masterpiece, “The Cruise” (1981). Set on the banks of a river, where several characters lie with their bellies in the sun while they talk about all sorts of things or, at times, fall into meaningful silence, “Roundtrip” is the graduation film of one of the most legendary Romanian directors.
