The Fever by Dorin Moldovan

In a manner reminiscent of the rebellious anti-calophile and anti-academic program of the French New Wave – and other young filmmakers’ movements from all around the world – , “The Fever” revolves around the reunion of two brothers that takes place one lazy morning in Bucharest. The little brother, played by a very young, blonde and curly-haired Ștefan Velniciuc, burns with a deep desire for emancipation, for breaking free from his little place of origin, whereas the older brother, played by Cornel Coman, is already partially jaded about his cosmopolitan life. He has a temporary girlfriend, wears bell bottom trousers, listens to psychedelic music and seems to have long forgotten about the values of the environment he was raised in.
